Dynamic Duos #78: Lovely as a Tree with Blessings from Heaven

2013.11.12 DYNAMIC DUOS

Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke are such a beautiful combination of colors and are this week’s chosen colors for the Dynamic Duos Subtly Yours challenge.  After having spent two days solely focused on Christmas cards, I chose to go a different direction with this card.   The DSP was a little brighter than I desired, so I sponged Crumb Cake all over the DSP and then decided to sponge it on the Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake CS too.  A small matte of black provided the pop I desired for the image.  For the embellishment, I colored the buttons with my Crumb Cake marker and then heat set them before attaching the linen thread.

  1. Lovely card using a favorite set of mine…so classic especially with these earthly colors. Great idea to tone down the DSP by sponging and the buttons look great! Thanks for playing along with the Dynamic Duos this week, Stacey!

  2. Thanks, Cindy. Now that I’ve discovered coloring the buttons; I find myself using them more and more! Note to self, “order more natural buttons on next SU order!”

  3. Great job using one of my all time fav sets, Lovely As A Tree!! The colors look fantastic together and what a wonderful tip on coloring the buttons 🙂 Thanks for playing along with us at the Dynamic Duos!
