FMS 118: Silhouette Sentiments Sympathy Card

Two dear friends of mine each recently lost a close loved one; so, tonight I was fashioning sympathy cards.   I used Freshly Made Sketches 118 sketch for this card.  To make the background paper, I inked the inside bottom of my stripes embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink; then I placed a piece of Very Vanilla CS into the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  While the picture doesn’t show the 3D effect, the background paper is actually raised/embossed lines which added the dimension I desired for this card.  I’m still discovering many “treasures” in the box of free goodies I recently received from Stampin Up.  The Pocketful of Posies DSP used for the horizontal stripe, was from one of the paper packs that arrived in my surprise box!

    1. Thank you, Karen. I’m still fairly new to Stampin Up and was unfamiliar with the Pocketful of Posies DSP. When I saw that particular piece of paper, I knew I wanted to use it as the central point for this card.

  1. What a lovely card Stacey! I love those elegant colours! The black looks so fabulous! Love the buttons! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

    1. Thanks Cindy! I wanted something clean and simple; but, the card was definitely too stark with just a plain Very Vanilla background. I was pleased with the striped lined background 🙂
