DD #93 Mixed Bunch Quilt Card

Dynamic Duo’s challenge this week is to use Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride.  Both of these colors are so soft and when combined together have a vintage feel to them; so, of course my mind went directly to a quilt.  I was able to envision this design; but, it took a little while to actually be able to piece together.  The central design was made by stamping the mixed bunch flower on whisper white; then,  I used the ticket punch to punch out just the middle portion of the flower.  Using the punch allowed me to center the image in the same place for each piece.  I trimmed the pieces down to 1-1/2” x 1” rectangles, then cut them in half diagonally and formed the pinwheel.  The Blushing Bride button was the perfect size and when topped with four mini pearls gave a beautiful finishing touch.

  1. Wow this is gorgeous.. I love all the detail you have added and that texture is so pretty. It looks like a real quilt. Thanks for joining us at Dynamic Duos.

    • Thanks Cindy. These colors are both so soft that I did feel a bit challenged to make them work together. I loved the black you added to your card, it “popped” so beautifully!
