CQC 262 A Round Array and Tiny Tags

There’s something about a thematic gift box that makes a little unexpected gift even more special.  When I saw Pootles’ tutorial on how to make a nail polish holder box,  I thought how cute it would be to decorate the box with a punch art bottle of nail polish.  I’d remembered seeing Michele Zindorf use the owl punch for a nail polish bottle, so I thought I’d give it a try.

This week’s Colour Q Challenge commemorating breast cancer awareness, seemed to be an excellent challenge to showcase my project.   This adorable little box will hold two bottles of nail polish (or SU reinkers!).  I’ll definitely have some of these boxes prepared for my Christmas Open House; they’ll be “donning” Real Red “bottles of polish.”

It’s hard to tell from the picture; but, the “For You’ was stamped with Versamark, then embossed with silver embossing powder.

PP181: Valentine Favor with A Round Array and A Fitting Occasion

When I saw these adorable 4-oz. cups, I was hooked!  My mind started racing with all the different thoughts of what I could make with these little gems.  Here’s an easy Valentine set I made for my display window.  The cups are simply covered with  Stampin Up DSP.  (I made the template by taking one of the cups apart and tracing it onto the DSP.)  Next, I ran two strips of Crumb Cake CS through my paper crimper to form the belly bands.  To cut the belly bands to fit, use the center portion of the cup template  and determine the width you like for your band.

The carrier is made from a 5″ x 8″ piece of Real Red CS, which I scored at 1.25″ on all edges.  Snip one scored line on each corner, miter the edges, then use red line tape to adhere.  The handle is a piece of 2″ x 12″ card stock, scored at 1.5″, 6″ and 10.5″.  Fold in half on the 6 inch score line and punch a heart out of both layers, just below the score line, to form the carrying handle.  Use a white gel pen to place a dashed line around the outside of the heart.  To seal the handle, apply tape between the layers, stopping just above the 1.5″ score lines, press together.  Using red line tape, adhere the 1.5 tabs onto the inside bottom of the carrier to attach the handle.  I placed my cups into the carrier in order to help with placement.

Please note, the cups in this picture are elevated a bit in order to show the embellishments.  The cups actually sit a bit lower in the carrier.
