Quilting with Delicate Doilies – FMS 174 and CQC 280

2014.02.23 FMS 174 LYNETTE'S BDAY

It was SO nice to be back enjoying some leisure time in my studio.  A dear friend has a birthday this week and I wanted to make her an extra special card.  I was inspired by the CQC 280 Color Challenge (though, I admit the Wisteria Wonder was causing me some difficulties – but, a simple candy dot on the flower, allowed me to incorporate the color) and decided some paper quilting was in order to blend these beautiful colors.  I didn’t have any Blackberry Bliss DSP, so I selected a Delicate Doily stamp and proceeded to make my own DSP.  One inch squares punched from the center of each Blackberry Bliss doily gave me a complimentary DSP to the Birthday Basics Raspberry Ripple I had selected.   I cut each one inch square into triangles and proceeded with my layout, which is this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  For the greeting, a stamped a Flowering Flourish, then heat embossed a black greeting on top of the flourish.  Time to get the card in the mail and then off to work I go – have a wonderful Monday everyone!
